Bakasana – Crow Pose 28.05.16 at 9am

Baka means crow or crane and asana means pose or seat.

It is so called as it looks like a crane standing gazing in the water, whilst fishing for its food.

As an arm balance, it strengthens the arms and wrists, stretches the upper back, opens the groin and tones and strengthens the abs.

This pose allows us to rise above our perceived¬†limitations and take flight.¬† It is an arm balance where the¬†hands are planted on the floor and the shins rest of the upper arms (tail feather is up), our gaze is fixed on a spot called ‘drishti’.
