The Mystery of Transformation – The Butterfly Chrysalis

A two hour yoga workshop exploring hip & shoulder opening.  These are two of the areas in the body that we hold the most tension.  We shall explore how releasing such tension transforms our bodies and our lives.

We will practice some old favourite asanas’, meditation and relaxation.
Followed by the much looked forward refreshments, a selection of the lastest YogaLeggs & Neals Yard Remedies

New Year Intentions

In the India tradition what you do on the first day of the year sets the tone for your year ahead.

As such I am running on Thursday 5th January 2017 at 8 pm an Intentions Workshop.

A Christmas Presence – A mindful yoga workshop

Join me from 9am on Saturday 26th May for a class exploring Bakasana.

Baka means crow or crane and asana means pose or seat.

It is so called as it looks like a crane standing gazing in the water, whilst fishing for its food.

As an arm balance, it strengthens the arms and wrists, stretches the upper back, opens the groin and tones and strengthens the abs.

This pose allows us to rise above our perceived limitations and take flight.  It is an arm balance where the hands are planted on the floor and the shins rest of the upper arms (tail feather is up), our gaze is fixed on a spot called ‘drishti’.

King Pigeon Pose

Join me from 9am on Saturday 30th April, for an extended class exploring the Eka Pada Rajakapotasana (King pigeon pose).

This pose is the perfect pose to balance our modern life style. Eka Pada Rajakapotasana (King pigeon pose) has the balance of being a hip opener and a back bend, it opens the hips and lengths the psoas muscle (the muscles that runs from the back of the hips around to the front of the body and down the groin, it is this muscle that often provides lower back pain). This posture provides ease in the lower half of the body.
